Chicago House will host a fund-raiser, “Spike’d Drag Queen Volleyball Charity Spectacle,” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Author Rita Mae Brown is keynote speaker during Gerber/Hart Library’s annual benefit gala, “Making History: Telling HerStory,” at Swedish American Museum Center. Today and Sunday, “Carnival” will held at Bucks Saloon which benefits Direct Aid. In addition to its champagne brunch, Halsted’s Bar and Grill offers $19.95 “Broke-Ass” special from 3 to 6 p.m. It’s “Bear” night with Great Lakes Bears and Bear magazine at Touche. Man’s Country welcomes strippers Angel, Paris and Peter tonight. Chicago Beef Dancers take it off at Jackhammer. An opening reception for artist Tay Kaune will be held at Hydrate from 9 to 11 p.m. with a $10 donation going to Test Positive Aware Network.

Charlie’s “talent contest and variety show will be hosted by Teri Yaki. Miss Foozie hosts Roscoe’s “Male Call” at 5 p.m. with the screening of the MTV Music Video Awards at 8 p.m. Hosted by Regina Upright and benefiting Better Existence with HIV, a number of benefit events will be held at Andersonville/Edgewater bars, including Touche, Jackhammer and @mosphere. Hydrate will hold “America’s Next Top Drag Queen.” The North End shows NFL games all day with the Bears vs. Colts game at 7 p.m. Featured strippers include Jimmy D and Peter at Man’s Country. The weekly “Spin Cycle” continues at Steamworks. Halsted’s Bar and Grill hosts its Sunday brunch “Pajama Party.” Featuring a pregame tailgate cookout, the Chicago Bears season opener will be screened at Touche.

Monday Night Football will be shown at Touche. Hosted by Frida Lay and Teri Yaki, “It’s Just Bingo, Bitch!” will be held at Charlie’s. In addition to showing Monday Night Football, Boystown Pool League sign-up will be held at The North End.
